Save Draft vs Publish
Save Draft
- Saves your current changes without making them live
- Useful for work-in-progress edits
- Click the “Save” button in the toolbar
- Keyboard shortcut:
Cmd/Ctrl + S
Publish
- Makes all saved changes live on your website
- Updates the public version visitors see
- Click the “Publish” button in the toolbar
Publishing Requirements
To publish your website, you need:
- Active subscription - Free plan allows 1 website, paid plans allow more
- At least one page - Your website needs content to publish
- Valid domain - Either the default
.lindo.site subdomain or a custom domain
Publishing Process
- Make your desired changes in the editor
- Click Save to save your draft
- Preview your changes using Preview mode
- When ready, click Publish
- Your changes are now live
Draft vs Published State
- Draft: Your working version with unsaved changes
- Published: The live version visitors see
- The editor always shows your draft version
- Publishing syncs your draft to the live site
Upgrade Prompt
If you see an “Upgrade” button instead of “Publish”:
- Your current plan doesn’t support publishing this website
- Click to view available plans
- Upgrade to enable publishing
Tips
- Always preview before publishing
- Save drafts frequently to avoid losing work
- Use version history to restore previous versions if needed
- Test on different devices before publishing major changes
